Entry #11: Final Blog Reflection

Image
Hello my fierce warriors, I am back again for the last time. I know it's sad, but my time here has been great and I have loved each any every entry I discussed, and I am more than honored with the feedback I have gotten during this time. I want to take this time to talk to future English students that will get to experience the blogging process. First off let me start by saying blogging is not easy, but it also is not that complex if you take the time to develop a great entry. I did not care too much for the blogging process in the beginning, but eventually I realized it would be smart of me to take it seriously so I don't fail the class, and once I started taking it seriously I found it to be quite soothing to the human mind.   Blogging can bring you a sense of accomplishment and peace. It can help you reach hundreds and maybe thousands of people out there that are struggling with something. You can save a life just by posting a blog that means something to them. Blogging...

Entry#10: Tough Guise 2

Image
Hello my fierce warriors, I am back again with some fun blogging. I want to talk about a documentary I saw the other day, call Tough Guise 2: Violence, Manhood and American Culture, by Jackson Katz. The documentary talked about how men are portrayed as violent in media. I think how people view different gender's is based on what they were taught as children.  Growing up, I was taught that women need to stay home with the kids and take care of them. I was told women were supposed to depend upon men to take care of them and provide for them. The whole traditional story that when your man comes home from work that he needs to have a hot meal waiting for him and a hot bath waiting on him as well. I chose not to listen to them though. My aunt told that women need to be independent and make their own money because one day your man may die or loss his job and then you guys will be homeless. She encouraged my independence and taught me to take control of my own l...

Entry#9: Media Synthesize

Image
Hello my fierce warriors, I am back again with some fun blogging! Today I want to discuss media and how it impacts my life on a day to day basis. I want to specifically discuss how I look at media now since being in college. I only use media as a form of entertainment. I don't use social media or other sites to express my emotions or vent, because I already have enough people in my life I trust to vent to. I am also a private person, and I hate others knowing my business until I choose to tell them. Now that I am in college English and we learn about rhetoric and credibility, I view media under less scrutiny. I have always hated the news because it is too depressing, and I never believed anything they say on the news to be true. Now, I understand that maybe some of the things they say on the news may be true, but they fail to make their information look credible and they fail to present people with all of the truth rather than just their version of the truth. Their rhetoric...

Entry#8: Our Backpacks

Image
Hello my fierce warriors, I am back again with some fun blogging. Today I want to talk about what's in your backpack, and I do not mean your actual backpack. I am referring to your emotional backpack where you keep all the bad things that have happened to you locked away, and you carry them around with you everyday of your life. I am firm believer that stress/depression can cause a large scale of mental and physical illnesses. Studies have proven that stress can cause illness. I encourage you to dig into your backpack and try to forgive anyone that has caused you harm, forgiveness is not for the other person, it is for you. I will share some of the stuff in my backpack with you since I am talking about it:  My backpack is full of some misfortunate events, but none the less traumatic ones. My father abandoned my brother and I. He was abusive mentally, physically, and verbally towards my mother and I. My mother was a drug addict, her drug of choice was crack. She was very neglectful....

Entry#7: Hashtag

Image
Hello my fierce warriors, I am back again for some fun blogging. Today I want to talk about hashtags. I hate them because some people misuse them. I can see why others would use hashtags because they make sense and are used scarcely, but others irritate me because they use hashtags for everything and none of it makes sense. I have never personally used a hashtag, but all my friends and family choose to use them in their daily social media addictions. The only thing I personally know about hashtags, is that they are used to group certain categories or topics together. When someone uses #BlackLivesMatter, they are attempting to use their platform to bring about justice. They want to make this hashtag go viral in hopes that others will join their fight. I personally think hashtags are useless excuses for people to post on their social media sites in the hopes of gaining more followers. I have seen hashtags be misused so many times before. I have seen people ...

Entry#6: Favorite Song: Fuck Apologies

Image
I ain't apologizing for shit I do what I want, and JoJo does too, uh Saw it in your eyes, when you said goodbye You didn't even try, so this time I don't care And honestly I was just about to pick up the phone And then I realized that I didn't do nothing wrong You would even tell two lies to prove that you were right Usually I'd go on and take the blame but not this time, not this time What you want from me? I would say I'm sorry if I really meant it Fuck apologies I would say I'm sorry if I really meant it I'm not perfect, I got pride That's not what it is this time So fuck apologies I would say I'm sorry if I really meant it If I, if I, if I really meant it I can't help that you, feel the way you do Try not to get confused, 'cause this time I don't care And honestly I was just about to pick up the phone And then I realized that I didn't do nothing wrong Didn't do nothing wrong, ayy ...

Entry#5: Local Story Respond

Image
Hello my fierce warriors, I am back again with some fun blogging. My teacher had us read an article, written in 2016 by the governor of Arizona, about why Arizona needs more college graduates. This article bored me half to death. As kids we hear this same thing all the time, we are told having a college degree will get you very far in life. In high school all the teachers told you that once we graduated we needed to go straight to a four year university and make something of ourselves. That is easy for them to stay, what about those who cannot afford to go to college because they can't afford it and they can't get any financial aid. As a student, I want people to understand that it is not always an option to go straight to college after graduating high school. I took a year and half off of school after graduating high school because I was going through some very severe health issues at the time. Anyway, back to the article, The governor of Arizona wanted to inform us that less ...
